# Adding and editing captions

> To add or edit a caption for an image, video or audio asset, click the gear icon just below the media item.

To add or edit a caption for an image, video or audio asset, click the gear icon just below the media item. Select **Add/Edit Caption**. In the pop up box, add your caption to the field and click **Save Changes**. If a media item has a caption, you can click **Caption** to edit the caption.

*Note: You may use basic HTML Tags within captions. The following HTML tags are accepted:*`<span>, <em>, </em></span><div><em>`</em></div><em></em>
